Henry Haley, M.D.

Dr. Henry Haley is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the International Society of Refractive Surgeons. He has performed thousands of procedures for vision correction including radial keratotomy, PRK, state-of-the-art LASIK techniques, as well as cataract surgery specializing in the life style improvement lens implant technology, glaucoma surgery techniques and cosmetic eyelid surgery.

Dr. Haley is actively involved with leading eye medical companies in evaluating new technologies and techniques, and has been invited to lecture and train other eye surgeons throughout the world on the latest advancements in eye care. Dr. Haley has practiced ophthalmology in the Baton Rouge, Metairie, Mandeville, and Hammond  areas for over 20 years.

 


Jeffrey Singer, M.D.

Dr. Jeffrey Singer is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Singer received his medical degree from the University Of Virginia School Of Medicine. He completed his surgical training at Duke University’s Department of Ophthalmology in 1994. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive surgeons, and the New Orleans Academy of Ophthalmology.

He is Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology with Tulane University Medical Center. Dr. Singer is one of the most sought out LASIK surgeons in the United States and has performed over 20,000 LASIK surgeries and thousands of ocular surgeries including PRK, AK, topical clear cornea transplantation, cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, retina photocoagulation and cosmetic eye lid surgery.

 

 


Scott Nelson, M.D.

Dr. Scott Nelson is the first Ophthalmologist to perform LASIK in Baton Rouge. He is a native of Baton Rouge and a graduate of LSU Medical School. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He served as Medical Director for the Williamson Eye Center in Baton Rouge before opening his own practice.

Dr. Nelson specializes in general eye exams, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma management, dry eye disease, LASIK, and cataract surgery. He is well known in the Baton Rouge and surrounding areas for his specialty in life style improvement lens implants which offer the patient freedom from glasses and contact lenses after cataract surgery. Dr. Nelson has served the Baton Rouge and Gonzales area for over 20 years.

Dr. Guidry is a graduate of LSU Medical School and was trained at the Louisiana State University  Eye Center in New Orleans. He specializes in complete eye exams, dispensing prescriptions for glasses and contacts as well as the treatment of eye disease in our Baton Rouge office.

Dr. Langlow specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of adult glaucoma. Dr. Langlow received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University before serving in the United States Navy. He earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at the LSU Eye Center in New Orleans.

Dr. Langlow completed a fellowship in medical and surgical glaucoma treatment at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics in Iowa City. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and New Orleans Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Langlow is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

 

 

 


Charles “Ed” Thomas, O.D.

Dr. Thomas is a graduate of The Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. He practices in the Hammond Office, specializing in complete eye exams, management of glaucoma, pre and post operative surgical care, dry eye disease, and prescriptions for contacts and glasses.

 


Chris Thomas, O.D.

Dr. Chris Thomas, O.D., is a native of Hammond, La. He is a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Biological Science. Dr. Thomas received his Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, TN.

Dr. Thomas is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Louisiana Association of Optometrists and Vision Source. In addition to primary eye care, Dr. Thomas’s special areas of interest lie in treatment and management of ocular disease and contact lens.

 

 

 


Jonathan Bowman, O.D., Clinical Director

Dr. Bowman, a practicing optometrist, serves as Eye Care Surgery Center’s Clinical Director. He is a southern Louisiana native with roots in Ascension Parish.He is a graduate of St. Amant High School and later Our Lady of the Lake College.He was also an Adjunct Faculty Member teaching Anatomy & Physiology at OLOL College and has held multiple positions at OLOL Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Bowman became a member of the Cornea & Contact Lens society as well as Sports Vision Society of the American Optometry Association while attending Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN.He is a graduate of Southern College of Optometry and is a member of the Optometric Association of Louisiana and American Optometry Association.Dr. Bowman has successfully completed advanced training in areas of Dry Eye Syndrome, surgical management and ocular disease treatment.

Dr. Bowman works in the Baton Rouge office and is available for routine appointments, children’s exams, contact lens fitting, ocular disease consultation, glaucoma management, diabetic eye exams, macular degeneration evaluations and all other eye conditions.

Dr. Bowman is also an InfantSee provider and is available for your child’s free-of-charge eye exam.


Dr. Gwen Cousins

Dr. Gwen Cousins earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and her medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport. She went on to an Internship in Medicine at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans and a Residency in Ophthalmology at Louisiana State University Health and Science Center in New Orleans. Dr. Cousins then continued her training with a Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at The Foundation for Retinal Research in New Orleans.

The recipient of numerous academic honors, Dr. Cousins was awarded the prestigious Slaughter Academic Scholarship at Louisiana State University Medical Center. Dr. Cousins has been a vitreoretinal physician and surgeon practicing in New Orleans since 2007. Dr. Cousins is an active researcher, participating in numerous ongoing clinical investigations on diseases of the retina, macula and vitreous. She also heavily involved in training vitreoretinal specialists.


Dr. Kathy Ta

Dr. Kathy Ta earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology Magna Cum Laude from Tulane University in New Orleans and her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport. She completed an Internship in Internal Medicine at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans and her Residency in Ophthalmology at Louisiana State University Health and Science Center and Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. Dr. Ta furthered her training with Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at The Foundation for Retinal Research in New Orleans.

Dr. Ta served as Chief Resident and received Excellence in Ophthalmology Award, The Philip H. Jones Scholarship for Academic Excellence, Medical Student Research Grant Program and Distinguished Scholars Award. Dr. Ta is a member of The American Academy of Ophthalmology and The American Society of Retina Specialists.


Dr. Stanislav Zhuk

Dr. Stanislav Zhuk earned his Bachelor of Science degree with Highest Honors in Molecular Biology from the University of Texas, Austin, and his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He continued his training with an Internship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas in the Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Zhuk then went on to a Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas in the Department of Ophthalmology and completed his Fellowship training in Vitreoretinal Surgery at The Foundation for Retinal Research in New Orleans.

Dr. Zhuk is an active researcher and holds an academic appointment at Louisiana State University School of Medicine as Assistant Clinical Professor.
